Since our launch in January 2009, DOG NEWS DAILY has become the most popular online dog magazine that reaches, influences, and entertains two separate yet interconnected audiences – the dog owning consumer and the pet industry professional who we define as pet product retailers and dog product manufacturers.

Within 9 months, our DOG PRODUCT DIRECTORY had become the largest on the internet featuring information, news, and links to over 1,400 dog products from over 300 manufacturers.  At the request of both our audiences our DOG BLOG was launched in April of 2009. Our DOG BLOG offered the 45,000 monthly unique visitors to our Product Directory the additional opportunity to have instant access to an upbeat, easy to navigate, and integrated website that focused on dog-related community events, activities, organizations, and the people and companies who supported them.  

This section also quickly gained in popularity to the point where, by September, both sections of DOG NEWS DAILY together had over 75,000 unique visitors per month.  

Demographic analysis showed that 75% of our visitors were dog owners of which 80% were females between the ages of 25 and 64, the majority of whom were college educated and had households incomes of over $75,000. 20% of our visitors were pet product retailers and manufacturers of which 80% were retailers and 20% were manufacturers. The other 5% of our visitors were Veterinarians and Vet Techs. 

Alexa Research indicated that visitors to DOG NEWS DAILY spent an average of 27 minutes on the website per visit and viewed 10 pages every time they logged on – both of which are virtually unheard of numbers for any pet website.

Because of these statistics, by September 2009 we were sold out of all available ad space for the rest of the year and had a waiting list of advertisers and sponsors. At this point, we knew that we had a tiger by its tail and had to quickly redo our business plan (and website) to be able to position and expand DOG NEWS DAILY to both leverage and manage our planned and unplanned growth while fully capitalizing on the ever changing digital landscape and the opportunities that it offered us. 

So in December, 2009, after the Holiday selling season and craziness had ended, we began the exciting, yet daunting, task of preparing DOG NEWS DAILY for the future. To do this cost and time effectively, we had to basically renovate our house while still living in it. This strategy of expanding and redesigning the website while keeping it up and running proved to be quite challenging; and, quite honestly, we weren’t able to maintain our continued growth during these last 2 months.  

We strongly believe, however, that we will quickly regain our traffic and increase it to levels never before attained because we have created a unique online experience that gives both our audiences an easy to find digital destination where they will enjoy spending more time than they realize because they’re having fun and learning at the same time. 

To accomplish this, we knew that we had to create an online environment that was intentionally simple in it’s design and ease of use; was visually exciting and engaging; offered specific dog topics of the greatest interest; was informative without being boring or preachy; and, most importantly, was uniquely different from any other online dog owner or pet industry magazine. 

At the same time, we had to create multiple marketing and promotional platforms that positively impacted and motivated our dual audiences thus enabling our advertisers, sponsors, affiliate partners, and stakeholders to maximize their investment in DOG NEWS DAILY. 

DOG NEWS DAILY 3.0

With the official launch of Phase 1 of DOG NEWS DAILY 3.0 on Wednesday February 17th, our greatly expanded and redesigned website will have the ability to broadcast and virally market more dog product-related videos and commercials than all other online dog owner and pet industry magazines combined!

Phase 1 will be officially introduced and aggressively promoted to both dog owners as well the pet and veterinary industries in North America and Europe.

Phase 1 will consist of 1.) a new FRONT PAGE which will also serve as a portal to the website’s other 5 sections; 2.) a redesigned and expanded DOG PRODUCT DIRECTORY section; and 3.) a DOG BLOG with even more news and information for dog owners. 

Phase 2 will roll out in early March, and, with it, our readers and visitors will see our brand new CELEBRITY DOG NEWS section featuring interviews with dog owning celebrities; the latest coverage of dog-related Hollywood events; and weekly listings of all dog-related shows either on TV, Radio, or the Internet.

Also, as part of Phase 2, our DND CLUB STORE will have it’s grand opening. What will set our store apart from the 100’s of other online pet product stores is that we want our shoppers to have fun and be able to find dog products they can’t find anywhere. As a lifestyle dog emporium we will only feature higher-end and exclusive dog products and services, and offer the first online Personal Shopping Service for dog owners who need help finding those hard-to-find luxury dog products. 

Phase 3 will be added to the website in June with the launch of the largest DOG SERVICES DIRECTORY on the internet. This much requested and anticipated section will enable dog owners to search for 20 different types of dog service providers (Veterinarians, Trainers, Groomers, Kennels, etc) by Zip Code. There will be no charge to either dog owners or service providers to take advantage of this great resource.
